PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient strength with lightweight, even when a display panel is made large in the size and to facilitate replacement of a lamp by fitting a display panel and a printed circuit board which drives the display panel to a rectangular frame. SOLUTION: This panel type display device is provided with a frame 25 and the frame 25 is structured to be a rectangular frame structure by combining four rectangular steel tubes and uses a chassis in common. Opening slits 26, 27 into which a backlight 40 and an optical panel 48 are inserted are formed to a right side face of the frame 25. Furthermore, protection grooves 28, 29 are formed to the inside of the rectangular steel tubes at an upper side and a lower side of the frame 25. Then, a display panel 32 is fitted to the front side of the rectangular frame 25. Moreover, an inverter printed circuit board 58 that lights a fluorescent tube 41 of the backlight 40 and a set printed circuit board 59 are fitted to the rear side of the frame 25 by using a bracket 60 respectively.
