PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has high sensitivity in a long wavelength region, exhibits a stable and excellent potential characteristic regardless of repetitive use and the fluctuation in the environment, affords good image quality free from an image defect, such as fogging, and has a characteristic small in transfer memory and photo memory. SOLUTION: The photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor provided with the photosensitive layer on a conductive base contains a hydroxygalium phthalocyanine crystal of which the Bragg angle 2θ±0.2 deg. in X-ray diffraction of CuKαhas strong peaks at 7.4 deg. and 28.2 deg. as a charge generating material. In addition, the layer contains the compd. of the structural equation as the charge transfer material.
