PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illegally duplicated information signal from being circulated or reproduced from an illegally produced recording medium by limiting and controlling the reproduction of a recorded information signal based on the presnence or absence of encrypton which should have been performed at a recording side with respect to the recorded information signal and additional information for managing duplication generations at the time of reproducing the recorded information signal. SOLUTION: The information signal inputted through the input terminal 10in of a recorder 10 is supplied to an additional information rewriting part 11 and also inputted to an additional information detecting and judging part 13. The part 13 detects additional information for managing duplication generations added to the information signal and judges the contents to transmit the information to a recording permission/inhibition control part 14, which controls the recording of the information signal by controlling a recording processing part 12 and a write part 16 in accordance with the judgement result of the additional information for managing the duplication generations. When the recording of the information signal is to be executed to a disk 30, an encrypton processing is certainly performed on the information signal.
