PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-road switching tower which is small in size and at the same time has improved workability such as assembly, maintenance, and extension. SOLUTION: An on-road switch tower houses a block switch for branching a distribution line into a plurality of blocks, a remote-controlled slave station for controlling the block switch, an optical relay for transmitting optical signals from the remote-controlled slave station to a remotely-controlled master station, and an optical closure for treating excess length of an optical fiber which transmits the optical signals from the optical relay. The optical relay and the optical closure is integrated into a single optical unit 7. The optical unit 7 is installed before the remote-controlled slave station to be rotatable forward. Due to this structure, there is no necessity for installing an excess length treatment section in the remote-controlled slave station 6. Moreover, by bringing down the optical unit 7 forward to lay it down outside the on-vehicle switch tower 1, a connection work, etc., for an optical fiber can be done in a wide place and also from above, where the inside of the optical unit 7 is easy to see. |
