PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the warpage of an optical disk owing to sticking of a cover sheet by setting circumferential speed, surface hardness and rolling load of a roller to pressurize the cover sheet on the optical disk within specified ranges. SOLUTION: The circumferential speed when rolling compaction of the roller 16 is set at the range of 5 to 25 cm/s, the Shore hardness Hs of its peripheral surface at 10 to <=60 and the rolling load at 0.5 to 3 kg, respectively. The holding surface 12 of a disk holding stage 11 sucks and holds the optical disk 8 under negative pressure by upwardly directing the incident surface of the recording and reproducing light for the same. A sheet holder 21 receives the cover sheet 6 peeled from a carrier film 38 and sucks and holds the cover sheet 6 under negative pressure in the position where its holdings surface 22 faces upward. Next, the cover sheet 6 is rotated clockwise by a rotating mechanism 36 and the end of its adhesive surface is pressed to the incident surface of the optical disk 8 by the roller 16. The disk holding stage 11 moves rightward, thereby causing the roller 16 to roll compaction the cover sheet 6 to the incident surface of the optical disk 8.
