The extrusion is drawn at the extruder exit, causing it to pass through the conformer strips during cooling. These operate successively from different sides. Preferred features: Assemblies (2, 3) at the extruder exit are fixed to one another and to the extruder. The plastic is pulled between them. The assemblies include a series of parallel strips (4, 5) perpendicular to the exit axis. They are regularly-spaced and their edges (40, 50) contacting the plastic are shaped to produce the appropriate profile. The strips (4, 5) alternate along the product length. They are heat-treated, particularly at the shaped edges in contact with the plastic. |
