<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a desired program from among enormous number of channels and to attain a pleasant selective operation by ANDing index word information and new index word information for detecting a channel. SOLUTION: To an index word information setting section 9A of a control means 9, fixed index words such as channel information from a reception section 5 and floating index words obtained from broadcast signals are supplied. When a user views an image set by the index word information setting section 9A and cries out, e.g. 'relax' towards a microphone of an operation section 10, the operation section 10 recognizes the voice, a channel detection means 9B inputs the recognized voice, retrieves a corresponding channel from an index word database 9D and uses a display processor 8 to display the corresponding channel on a divided screen. When the user uses a search button to search the screen and selects a desired channel and depresses an 'OK' button for the operation section 10, a control section 9 selects the corresponding channel.</p> |
