HEAT SHRINKABLE LABEL AND PLASTIC CONTAINER COATED WITH LABEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat shrinkable label having low temp. shrinkability and an excellent recycling characteristic by subjecting a heat shrinkable film formed by stretching a styrene resin having a specific Vicat softening point to printing with foamed ink and specifying the sp.gr. after printing to a specific value. SOLUTION: The heat shrinkable label is formed by subjecting a heat shrinkable film formed by at least uniaxially stretching the styrene resin having the Vicat softening point of 60 to 95 deg.C to printing with foamed ink for at least one layer and the sp.gr. thereof after the printing is below 1.0. The styrene resin preferably consists of a styrene-butadiene block copolymer and/or a rubber reinforced styrene-acryl copolymer. The shrinkage rate when the film is immersed for 10 seconds in hot water of 80 deg.C is preferably >=10% in at least one direction. The Vicat softening point is regulated by randomly (or taper) copolymerizing a low Tg monomer with the polystyrene resin or adding a plasticizer thereto.
