OPTICAL CONNECTOR WITH HOUSING BODY AND JIG USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of an optical connector by ferrule joining to make simply joinable and to miniaturize the size, to facilitate exchange of a broken part when a part of the optical connector is broken and to facilitate loading/unloading of the optical connector of an inserting side. SOLUTION: The optical connector has a housing body 1 and a first ferrule 5. The housing body 1 is constituted of a main body part 2 and a top end part 3 which are joined by a separable joining means (pawl parts 2b and 3c) and the housing body 1 has interior spaces 2a, 3a which are successively provided across the main body part 2 and the top end part 3. The first ferrule 5 is housed in the interior space 2a on the main body part 2 side of the housing body 1 and has a vacant part of the interior spaces 2a, 3a capable of housing a second ferrule at the top end side of the first ferrule 5. At the top end of the top end part 3 of the housing body 1, a locking part 3b having elasticity capable of engaging the second ferrule at the time of housing the second ferrule and an inclined part 3d for releasing engagement provided successively to the locking part 3b are installed in the vacant part of the interior space.
