The end (5) of the implant (1) turned away from the screw-in aperture (4) is closed and narrows in the direction of the screw-in aperture. The section (3) for insertion in the jaw bone is provided with longitudinal ribs (6). The ribs are so arranged and formed that they enlarge the cross dimension of this section in one direction but do not influence the cross dimension in the direction at right-angles to it. Four to six longitudinal ribs are available and are divided into individual sections by incisions (7). The lower section (3) for insertion in the jawbone has a rough surface property promoting the growth of the jaw bone, whilst the surface of the upper section (9) connecting to this surface is smooth.
