PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic composition apparatus which enables a composer to compose music while considering melody constitution over the entire part of the music, enables the composer to visually recognize the pitch change over the entire part of the music and further enables the composer to rapidly evaluate the melody of the formed music and a memory medium therefor. SOLUTION: Respective skeletons are composed by the skeletons of such hierarchical structures as the entire skeleton, the period skeletons based on the entire skeleton and the phrase skeletons based on the period skeletons. The skeletons of the lower hierarchies are formed in accordance with the skeletons of the upper hierarchies. When the formation of the phrase pitch curve which is the lowermost hierarchy is requested, the phrase pitch curve is formed in accordance with the already formed entire pitch curve and period pitch curves and these phrase pitch curve is stressed and displayed. The entire pitch curve and period pitch curve which are upper thereof are also display in the display form different from the display for the phrase pitch curve. Further, when 'AUTO' is assigned, the skeletons thereof are played at the assigned tempo after the formation of the phrase pitch curve. |
