PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting a noise generating Zener diode capable of unitarily deciding and objectively deciding a criterion by shortening a predetermined time of deciding a pass or a fail. SOLUTION: A Zener diode is selected by inspecting a bias voltage dependence of a noise output generated in the state that a reverse bias voltage is applied. The noise output is suitably detected as a detected noise voltage. The dependence is inspected by two-dimensionally displaying a characteristic curve, wherein an abscissa axis is a rectified noise voltage to be detected and an ordinate axis is a bias voltage, by sweeping the bias voltage of the diode to be selected.
