PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device for fixing a tension member of an optical cable by which a insertion work of the tension member into a through-hole between a base pedestal and a pressing tool can be facilitated. SOLUTION: The base pedestal 1 provided with a notch in standing tongue pieces 3 formed at both ends of a bottom plate 2 and the pressing tool 5 of a shape approximately similar to the base pedestal 1 are made to face each other and the through-hole 11 which can pass the tension member 10 therein by notches 4, 8 of the respective standing tongue pieces 3, 7 is formed. The tension member 10 can be passed therein or can be fastened by changing the inside diameter of the through hole 11 by making the distance between a bottom plate 2 of the base pedestal 1 and the bottom plate 6 of the pressing tool 5 change by their mutual separation or approaching. The tension member 10 can be tightened in the through-hole 11 with a fastening bolt 14 which is inserted into bolt holes 12, 13 formed in the bottom plate 2 of the base pedestal 1 and the bottom plate 2, 6 of the pressing tool 5. Between the base pedestal 1 and the pressing tool 5, a spring member 17 which energizes the respective bottom plates 2, 6 to be separated further in a direction where the inside diameter of the through-hole 11 is expanded, is installed.
