PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the acceleration performance and the power regeneration performance of a car by controlling the target charging level of a charging means so as to decrease it when the car speed is high, and to increase it when the car speed is low. SOLUTION: First, the value of a vehicle speed obtained this time from a vehicle speed sensor is read (S1030), and an average vehicular speed Vm is computed by averaging a large number of vehicular speed values read in a specified period T immediately before it (S1032), and a target charging level pbp is determined from a map according to the computed average vehicular speed Vm (S1034). Furthermore, a present charging level pb is found from an SOC meter (S1036). Next, a required battery power value pb' which is the difference between a target charging level pbp and the present charging level pb found is computed (S1038), and returns to a main routine. Consequently, it becomes possible to perform large power regeneration at high-speed times and to perform strong acceleration at low-speed times, since a charging level is decreased when the vehicular speed is high, and a charging level is increased, when the vehicular speed is low. |
