PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform highly accurate stereoscopic image display by receiving and separating compressed and multiplexed moving image data for the right eye and moving image data for the left eye and providing a first compressed image decoding means for decoding the moving image data for the right eye and a second compressed image decoding means for decoding the moving image data for the left eye. SOLUTION: Right eye image data and left eye image data held in the storage part 7 of a video server 1 are respectively compressed by compressors 8a and 8b, sent to a multiplexer 2, multiplexed and transmitted to this stereoscopic image receiver 3 first. Then, the stereoscopic image receiver 3 separates the multiplexed data and transmits the compressed right eye image data and left eye image data respectively to compressed image decoders 4a and 4b. The compressed image decoders 4a and 4b parallelly develop the received right eye image data and left eye image data and outputs them to stereoscopic display spectacles 5 while obtaining synchronization as NTSC signals. |
