<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to form character fonts having a variety of power of expression while maintaining the data quantity necessary for formation of contour information 36 of various characters at the least possible required quantity and to display character strings taking the connection between the plural characters into consideration. SOLUTION: Information (32) on a writing implement 44 for specifying the contour shape of the character is successively applied to a writing route 48 of the character and writing route information 34 for specifying a writing pressure, by which the contour information 36 of the character necessary for character display is formed along the writing route 48. The method is so constituted as to form the contour information by applying the information specifying the contour information to the information for specifying the writing route in the manner described above and, therefore, the contour information having a variety of the power of expression may be formed while the basic data necessary for forming the contour information of various kinds of symbols is maintained at the least possible required quantity.</p> |
