PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the program booking system for information recording and reproducing device which can book a program with extremely easy operation. SOLUTION: Program information from an external memory 40 is downloaded and stored in a program information memory 90 and voice dictionary data included in the program information are stored in a voice dictionary memory 50. At a booking request, a list of programs is extracted from the program information stored in the memory 90 and displayed on a TV monitor 70. A user selects a desired program to be booked from the displayed program list and specifies it by touching a touch panel 80 with a finger or voicing and inputting the program name to a microphone 60. Consequently, once the program to be booked is thus specified, a microprocessor 10 registers information including the date, time, and channel of the broadcasting station needed to record the selected program as booking information according to the program information stored in the memory 90 and then enters booking standby state.
