PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of a sensor. SOLUTION: In this sensor, an input end portion of a first optical fiber 8 is connected with a light source, a light intensity measuring means is connected with an output end portion of a second optical fiber, an input end portion 16 of the second optical fiber 10 is arranged adjacently to an output end portion of the first optical fiber 8, the output end portion 12 of the first optical fiber and the input end portion 16 of the second optical fiber are adjacent to the junction surface. The output end portion 12 of the first optical fiber and the input end portion 16 of the second optical fiber are cut off by small dimension along a plane intersecting at least one optical axis, and optical energy propagation regions are brought into contact with each other.
