PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement device with a character information transmission function capable of performing reception in real time in the case that abnormality is generated in the output of a measurement object. SOLUTION: This measurement device is provided with the measurement device 1 for inputting measurement data from the measurement object, a trigger detection means 2 for monitoring the data and outputting trigger detection signals when the value of the data becomes a prescribed level, a measurement data processing means 3 for processing the measurement data based on signals from the trigger detection means 2, a measurement data storage means 4 for storing the measurement data based on the instruction of the processing means 3, a character message preparation means 10 for preparing a character message from the stored data based on the instruction of the processing means 3, a character message output means 11 for outputting the prepared character message and a modem 7a for outputting the character message to a mobile communication body.
