PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the saving of construction cost and the shortening of the term by simplifying rigging work in a liquid-level meter with a simple theory, permit controlling of the drive of a pump or the like according to short- time changes in the liquid level and moreover, achieve the saving of energy. SOLUTION: This liquid-level meter has a feed pipe 2 insertable into the liquid in a tank, a pump 12 capable of supplying a compressed gas into the feed pipe 2, a check valve 14 provided between the pump 12 and the feed pipe 2, a pressure sensor 15 for measuring the air pressure in the feed pipe 2 and a control means 16 to control the pump 12 by a pressure data fed from the pressure sensor 15. In this case, the feed pipe 2, the pump 12, the check valve 14 and the pressure sensor 15 are arranged for each tank.
