DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SECONDARY STATOR FOR LINEAR MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a secondary stator for linear motor having nonmagnetic secondary conductors buried in a plurality of annular grooves arranged in parallel on the outer peripheral surface of its bar-like magnetic core. SOLUTION: A hanging body 33 which hangs down a work W composed of a magnetic core inserted into a nonmagnetic pipe is provided above a column 24 erected beside a table 21 such that the hanging body 33 can be raised and lowered. Then a reducing mechanism 25 is provided in the table 21. After the hanging body 33 is lowered to an appropriate position, the work W is reduced by pressing the reducing mechanism 25 against the work W from the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the work W by driving the mechanism 25. The work W is reduced over the full length of the work W by repeating the reducing work on the work W by sequentially raising and lowering the hanging body 33.
