PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the deviation of electron orbit from a desirable orbit by having a film including at least carbon nitride in a surface of a first member as a spacer for maintaining a space between a first board and a second board. SOLUTION: A spacer 22 as a first member is formed with a carbon nitride film 23 in a surface of an insulating base material 24, and provided so as to receive the atmospheric pressure at the time of forming inside of a case into vacuum so as to avoid the breakdown or deformation of the case. Material, shape, arrangement, the number of arrangement of the spacer 22 are decided in consideration of shape and a coefficient of thermal expansion of the case, atmospheric pressure and heat to be applied to the case, and as a shape, flat shape, crossing shape, L-shape and cylindrical shape are available. The insulating base material 24 is made of the material having a coefficient of thermal expansion nearly equal to that of a rear place formed with an electron emitting element and a face plate formed with the phosphor, or a material having high elasticity and capable of easily absorbing the thermal deformation is sued. With this structure, influence by the charge can be reduced so as to improve the reproducibility.
