PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct accurate measurement of tensile force in a simple constitution by suspending at least one roll stand via a free joint among a plurality of roll stands to grip and pull a test piece by the rotation of rolls. SOLUTION: The main body of a testing part is constituted of two rotary stands 22 and 23 each with a rotary grip 6 provided with a vertical pair of rolls which are operated to grip and pull a test piece 20, a free joint to suspend one roll stand 24, a test piece holder 14 to house the test piece 20 prior to tests, a universal joint 13 to transmit a turning force to the rolls, etc. Then the thickness of the test piece 20 is measured by a plate thickness measuring device 8 while the test piece 20 is extruded from a test piece box, and the probe of an extensometer 15 is lightly pressed against the surface of the test piece 20 into contact to measure the extension of the test piece 20. When the test piece 20 reaches its extension limit and ruptured, the ruptured test piece is delivered to the outside of the rolls and recovered to a test piece receiver 2 below.
