PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a measurement system control method for detecting the interference of a light path due to the mixture of bubbles or particles into a sample to be inspected in a sample cell. SOLUTION: In a measurement system control method, bubbles or particles 10 are detected by detection light 2 for detecting the bubbles or particles 10 in a sample to be inspected, and interference to measurement light 5 for measuring the optical characteristics of the sample to be inspected due to presence of the bubbles or particles 10 is detected by utilizing the detection of the bubbles or particles 10. In an optical characteristic-measuring device, the intensity of the detection light 2 is at least the intensity of the measurement light 5, and the wavelength of the detection light 2 is in the region of the light absorption wavelength or not in the region of the light-scattering wavelength of the sample to be inspected.
