PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a faucet mounting mechanism capable of being mounted, in a short time, from a position above a plate part with excellent appearance through a one-man work without the occurrence of not only displacement in a position but also inclination of a faucet. SOLUTION: At least one rotatable screw member and at least three holder guides 14a and 14b at least one of which forms a rotatable screw member are arranged at equal intervals around the center Q of an adapter. Meanwhile, a holder 15 is arranged at the holder guide such that switching to a first attitude A passing through a through-hole 8 and a second attitude B locked on the under surface of a faucet mounting plate part 9 is practicable. A catching and holding member 16 for the holders is threadedly mounted on the holder guide 14a forming a screw member. A contact surface between a holding member 16 and a holder 15 forms externally downward slopes S1 and S2 and the holder 15 is switched from the first attitude A to the second attitude B with rotation of the holder 15 through cam operation.
