PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device equipped with a projector preventing the optical path of a projection optical system from being intercepted by a wiring for electrically connecting a liquid crystal panel and a driving circuit and having small depth. SOLUTION: As for this projection type display device PD1; image light is emitted to a screen 5 from the back surface side of the device as shown by a center axis PX, then it is reflected upward, becomes projected light (center axis AX) and is reflected toward the screen 5 by a 2nd reflecting mirror 160, and the center axes PX and AX of the image light and the projected light are regulated on one plane.
