<p>In a pressure sensing device (1), a flexible, light-reflective foil (7) bows in response to pressure. A light source (11) provides light incident on the foil (7). The light is reflected by the foil (7) onto a light detector (13). The bowing of the foil (7) changes the position of incidence of the reflected light on the detector (13), the intensity of the reflected light, or both. This change allows for a calculation, by a computing device (15), of the pressure on the foil (7).</p> |
