The data processor has a client part (120), at least one telecommunications coupler for exchanging data with an external data processing system (110) and a controller. The client part has a functional module coupler for at least one mobile functional module (140) enabling data exchanges between the client part and mobile functional module. The controller controls the data exchange with the external system depending on control data read in from a functional module via the functional module coupler if a functional module is coupled via the coupler.
