The driver cabin is provided with an accident sensor circuit (12,13). Within a short time between predicting an accident and intrusion into the cabin (1), the seat (4) is moved by means of a drive mechanism (11), via a guide (9), in response to signals from the sensor circuit, upwards into a protective position, which corresponds to two thirds of the maximum height of the storage space behind the seat.
