The unit comprises a deflecting device having a lever (5) which pivots about a first pivot point (6) and a connecting rod (11) which is connected to the lever for rotation about a second pivot point (12). The lever is articulated by an armature (4) of an electromagnet (3). The connecting rod has an eye (10) connected to a journal (9) on the lever. The ratio of the distance between the first and second pivot points (a) and the radius of the connecting rod eye (r) is grater than the coefficient of static friction between the eye and the journal. This prevents reaction forces being fed back to the electromagnet.
