In a mounting arrangement for mounting devices, such as air supply units, lighting appliances, etc., in the ceiling of a clean room and comprising a grating formed by a bar or beam construction, a bar construction is adapted to delimit in the grating a polygonal, preferably square opening (2), whose size is slightly greater than the size of the device to be supported in the opening. The arrangement includes a support construction which can be inserted through said opening and which is designed to be supported by said beam construction and therewith delimit the size of the opening in which the device is supported. The support construction includes at least two flange sections (4) which each extend over at least one of the corners of the polygon and which form abutment surfaces on which the device is supported when lowered into abutment with said flange sections, after having lifted the device up through said opening to a position slightly above the bar construction prior to inserting said flange sections. In a method of mounting such devices in such clean room ceilings, where the bar construction delimits in said ceiling at least one opening (2) which is slightly larger than the device to be mounted in said opening, the device is first lifted up through said opening to a position slightly above the bar construction, whereafter an abutment surface means supported by the beam construction and reducing the size of said opening is fitted around the opening-defining edges, by inserting at least two flange sections (4) up through said opening (2) and assembling said flange sections to form a continuous support flange surround which extends around the opening and slightly inwards over the opening delimited by said bar construction, and then lowering the device into abutment with said support surface means.
