METHOD FOR DETECTING MULTIPLE PRESENCE OF OBJECTS IN A SORTING MACHINE

The invention -oncerns a method to be used in machines wherein objects are transported on their edge in conveying buckets with V-shaped base. The method consists in: (1) causing the buckets (G) to cross, downstream of the loading site, a path (S) which constitutes the carrying side of an endless belt arrangement, moving in the same direction and at the same speed as the buckets, and passing through the bases thereof when they cross it, such that the edges of the transported objects are raised on the path (S), and are spaced from one another when there are several of them; (2) producing images of said edges when they cross the path (S); and (3) processing said images to detect the multiple presence of objects.
