<p>A method of enhancing the GA inducibility of α-amylase promoters and improved GA-inducible α-amylase promoters are disclosed. The modification to enhance GA inducibility includes a mutation in the region 5-15 bases 3' of the promoter amylase box sequence, or a tandem duplication of promoter response elements, or both. Also disclosed are vectors and transgenic plants containing the enhanced promoters.</p> |
