<p>The invention concerns an internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber (1) defined by a piston (3) top wall mounted in a cylinder block cylindrical bore (2) and a cylinder head (4) bottom wall (13), a recess (18) arranged in the cylinder head and emerging in the cylinder head (4) bottom wall (13), a fuel injector (16) arranged parallel to the cylinder (2) axis and emerging at the recess (18) top, a spark plug (17) emerging laterally in the recess (18). The invention is characterised in that the piston (3) is provided on its top wall with a cavity (30) extending substantially beneath said recess (18), said cavity (30) being surrounded by two projecting bosses (33) extending symmetrically relative to a transverse plane of the cylinder.</p> |
