PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device capable of performing simultaneous sound recording and simultaneous reproductions in plural channels correctly. SOLUTION: Voice data recorded on a recording medium are converted into a voice signal in a digital signal processing part 9 and a D/A converte 5 to be amplified in an amplifier 7 for each plural voice reproducing blocks 10 under the control of a system control part 13. Then, signal levels of voice signals are detected for each channel in a signal level detecting circuit 21 and when a concerned signal level is equal to or smaller than a threshold, the signal level of the signal concerned with the channel is made to be attenuated by a constant amount by operating a mute circuit 22 and also the voice signal concerned with the channel and voice signals concerned with other channels are synthesized in a signal synthesizing unit 8 to be outputted.
