<p>A color picture tube includes a panel having a substantially rectangular effective area, of which outside is flat and inside is curved, and a fluorescent screen is formed on the inside of the effective area. The inside of the effective area of the panel satisfies RH⊃RV and RS≥RV; or RH⊃RV and RS≥RV and RL≥RH, where RH is the average radius of curvature along the long axis, RV is the average radius of curvature along the short axis, RL is the average radius of curvature along the long side, and RS is the average radius of curvature along the short side. Thus, the flatness of the effective area of the panel is improved, resulting in improved visibility.</p> |
