The lifting and lowering device (3) for the window pane (4) is formed by a loop of flexible material (6), the curved region (6a) of which extends beneath the pane, whilst the arms (6b,6c) of the loop extend upwards on either side of the pane, which rests on top of the curved region. Altering the length of the arms causes the pane to be lifted or lowered. The loop may pass round a hemispherical strip of Teflon (RTM:polytetrafluoroethylene) which prevents the sharp edges of the glass pane cutting into it. |
