A product wrapping method and machine (1) whereby a continuous tubular wrapping (5), formed gradually about an orderly succession of equally spaced products (2) with a first given spacing, is fed through an operating station (7) and divided into segments (16), each enclosing a respective product (2); and the segments (16) and respective products (2), rotated 90 DEG about an axis (117) crosswise to a transfer plane (K2), are transferred with a second given spacing along a substantially straight path (P2) to an output conveyor (18) by a transfer device (22), which grips each product (2) and the respective segment (16) before the product (2) leaves the operating station (7).
