MONOMODE OPTICAL FIBRE WITH OPTIMISED DISPERSION SHIFT FOR HIGH SPEEDS

The invention concerns a monomode optical fibre with dipersion shift having an affective area not less than 60 mu m<2>. Said fibre is characterised in that it has a chromatic dispersion cut off wavelength lambda 0 ranging between 1400 and 1480 mn and bend losses less than 0.05 dB to 1550 nm for a winding of 100 turns of fibre about a radius of 30 mm. The invention is applicable to transmission systems with wavelength muliplexing, and enables to limit the non-linear effects, such as four-wave mixing, and to limit the use of fibre with compensating dispersion.
