The halogen lamp has a gas-tight crimping (2) at the lamp socket with a metal foil arranged in the crimping to connect a heating coil and an outward-leading electrode for delivering current. A temp. control element (3) is arranged at least near the crimping to enclose the crimping and is temp. controlled using a fluid. Independent claims are also included for a method of controlling the lamp temp. and for the use of a halogen lamp in an infrared radiation heat source.
