<p>The present invention pertains to the field of biotechnology and essentially relates to devices for cultivating cells from tissues or micro-organisms which have different oxygen demands. The apparatus of the present invention includes a cylindrical vessel (1) as well as a device for aerating and mixing the medium, wherein said device comprises a vaned wheel (5) mounted on a vertical shaft (6), an annular enclosure (7) arranged in the vessel (1) so as to define a gap and a mechanism for stabilising the position of the annular enclosure relative to the surface of the liquid phase, said mechanism comprising a plurality of guiding members (11) and a plurality of floaters (10). The guiding members (11) are made in the form of detachable vanes (12, 13) having surfaces that define an aerodynamic foil of the 'anti-wing' type. The vanes (12, 13) are fitted with units for modifying the attack angle relative to the circulating flow of gas or liquid, and for securing them respectively to the mounts (16, 17) provided on and under the annular enclosure.</p> |
