A bending press includes a table 3 resting on at least two part-cylindrical shims 5 carried in bearings 7 formed in the frame 2, with wedgeshaped shoes 6 interposed between the shims and the table so that transverse movement of one shoe permits adjustment of the parallelism between the table 3 and the moving press member 4, each shoe being so arranged that it may be shifted in either direction and locked in a selected position. The table 3 is guided for such adjustment by pins 11 on the frame 2 extending through slots 12 in the table 3, which latter is urged towards the frame 2 by spring washers 13 on the pins 11. The wedge shoes 6 may be moved by screws held in members secured to the table 3, the shims 5 or the frame 2. The screws may carry Vernier means to indicate the amount of the adjustment. The screws may be locked in position by further screws. The shoes 6 may be adjusted by nuts on screws, fixed to the frame 2 and extending through the shoes, against spring washers. The shims 5 may each have two wedge surfaces of opposite slopes engaged by two wedge shoes 6 moved by a screw having two threads of opposite pitches. |
