A storage box (1) for storage of objects in a suitable place with restriction of accessibility and the possibility of marking, which storage box consists of a main body (2), a drawer (3) with a front piece (4) and a lock device (30). The drawer is slidingly placed in the main body (2) through an opening (24) in one of the main body's surfaces, the lock device (30) is installed on one of the main body's (2) surfaces or on the front panel of the drawer (3), which lock device (30) in the locked position connects the drawer (3) to the main body (2) and in the released position disengages the connection between the drawer (3) and the main body (2). The lock device (30) may be installed on the front panel (4) of the drawer (3) and engages with a lug (13) mounted on the inside of one of the main body's (2) surfaces (20, 22, 26). The lock device consists of a substantially cylindrical housing (31) with an enlarged end piece which enlarged end piece forms a seat (39) shaped in a complementary manner to the underside of a handle (35), which handle (35) operates a shaft (33) provided in the housing, which shaft (33) is movable in its longitudinal direction and can rotate in the housing (31). On the shaft (33) there are mounted one or more raised lugs (40) which are adapted to similarly shaped openings in a bolt (34) which is rotatably mounted on the shaft (33) where the lugs (40) can engage with the openings in the bolt (34) when the handle (35) is pulled up from the seat (39) and when the handle (35) is in the correct position relative to the openings in the bolt (34) in order thereby to be able to rotate the bolt (34) via the shaft (33) with the handle (35).
