Apparatus for continually checking cylindrical test pieces e.g. bottle closures for manufacturing faults and picking out those with faults

The apparatus has a device for transporting the test pieces (5-11). This has a channel (24) which has an inclined surface both in its transport direction and also transverse to it. The test piece can slide along the channel from top to bottom with its base in contact with the channel and with its cladding surface rolling on the side edge of the channel. The apparatus also includes test devices for the test pieces arranged along the channel. Faulty test pieces are picked out by the device. Independent claims also cover a method of carrying out the testing.
