The invention is characterized in that, in the discharge area of the fuel injection nozzle (15), the ceiling surface (8.1) of the combustion chamber ceiling (8) has a projection traversing the combustion chamber and covering the edge of the cylinder (4) in the closing plane (3), said projection having a front surface (17) that is aligned cross-wise in relation to the axis (14,1) of the fuel injector nozzle (15) and is more inclined in relation to the ceiling surface (8.1).
