The invention concerns a method for making marketable sugar, that is of category N DEG 1 or N DEG 2, while maintaining a molasses purity less than about 60, wherein a high purity syrup, that is higher than about 90, is boiled during a boiling step after being mixed with refined sugar derived from the last jet, producing a masse cuite. The method is characterised in that the purity of the centrifugal running I, EPI, that is the syrup coming from the first runnings, is between 79 and 83 approximately, preferably between 81 and 82 approximately. The method consists in reducing the volume of the masse cuite in litres to values between about 26 to 28 litres of masse cuite for 100 kg of beet, thereby decreasing energy consumption and investments costs required for crystallisation operations. |
