<p>The present invention is directed to catalysts for the production of a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide by steam reforming of a hydrocarbon feedstock as well as to precursors of such catalysts. The catalyst precursors include a mixture of nickel oxide and an oxide of cubic structural type which is an oxygen ion conductor at elevated temperatures. Processes for the preparation of such catalyst precursors and catalysts are also disclosed, as are processes for producing a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide by steam reforming of a hydrocarbon feedstock.</p> |
