Electronic musical instrument with auto-play function has display showing time points at which keys are to be pressed

Pre-stored auto-play data are read out in an automatic play sequence each time a key is operated. The instrument includes a guidance display device for producing a display based on the auto-play data and indicating the points in time at which the keys are to be pressed. The display has several display lines. One line is replaced by a new line after a operating time point has passed. The display may also indicate rhythm lines and bar lines based on the auto-play data. Independent claims are included for an electronic musical instrument, a computer readable recording medium on which a program is stored to provided the function of the guidance display on a computer.
