<p>The invention described herein provides methods and reagents for the detection of Factor V Leiden in plasma. The methods provided use nucleic acid ligands obtained through use of the SELEXTM methodology that are capable of binding to Factor V Leiden, but not to wild-type Factor V, after treatment of plasma with thrombin and activated protein C. The assays made possible by the instant invention are far simpler and more accurate than prior art assays for Factor V Leiden.</p> |
