The machine, comprising a chassis with a rotary control cab which has a manipulator arm on the front and a technical compartment at the back, has one or more counterweights (23, 24) which are able to pivot about vertical axes (26, 27) at the sides of the cab and form access doors for the technical compartment. Each counterweight has a portion which projects over the hinge and apertures which act as ventilation slots.
